電車やバスの値段は、その地域によってまちまちで、外国人にとっては切符を買うのはとても面倒だし難しい。また、切符の購入に時間がかかります。
日本に1泊2日程度の短時間滞在の場合であっても、SUICAやICOCAなどの交通系ICカードを買うことを全力でおすすめします。このカードを買うのに時間はかかりません！
なお、東京エリアで買うのであれば、クレジットカードでも買うことができる訪日外国人用ICカード、「WELCOME SUICA」が最もおすすめです！
2019年9月から販売が開始されており、クレジットカードで買えたり、預り金や払い戻しなどの面倒な手続きがいりません。

購入方法
各駅の券売機で買えます。カードの名前は地域によって違いますが、買い方などは共通していますので、これを見て参考にしてください。今回は、東京エリアのSUICAの券売機で説明しています。
これは最も一般的な券売機です。右からICカードの現金追加専用機、切符が買える券売機、そしてなんでもできる券売機の順となります。残りの2個は新幹線や特急専用の券売機です。クレジットカードも使えます。全ての券売機で買えるわけではないとだけ覚えておいてください。次からは実際の購入画面です。
これは右下の初期画面です。右上のボタンを押して言語を変更します。今回は英語を選択しています。（この画面じゃない場合、左のタブからICカードの絵があるボタンをクリックすればこの画面となります。）
真ん中のボタンのSUICAを購入してください。
必要な金額を選択します。
前料金として500円とられます。これは、後で説明する払い戻しの際に戻ってきます。
現金を入れれば、現金の金額が内蔵されたSUICAが出てきます。これで完了です。
もっと沢山のお金を入れたい場合は、このICカードを券売機に入れて金額を選択すれば入れることが出来ます。
払い戻し
払い戻しは、各駅の窓口にて行うことが出来ます。
”HARAI-MODOSI”
と言えば駅員が手数料220円を差し引いた金額を返してくれます。ただし、ICカードの地域外では払い戻しが不可能です。ICカードの地域は以下の通りです。
